Exhaust air purification in shopping center

Since spring 2018, visitors to the Alstertal-Einkaufszentrum (AEZ) in Hamburg- Poppenbüttel have been able to enjoy the homemade pizzas, pasta with various sauces, and fresh salads from the quick-service brand “Ciao Bella”. In addition to classics such as spaghetti Bolognese or penne all’Arrabbiata, guests will also find daily changing Italian specialties on the extensive menu.

All dishes are prepared in the traditional way, fresh and fast for the guests. The flagship store is 158 square meters with 72 seats. It is already the 40th branch.

After a site visit, oxytec found a technical solution that suited the restaurant’s cramped conditions. Since Ciao Bella is located on the 1st floor of the shopping center, the system could be installed directly above on the roof. A roof made of galvanized steel, which oxytec also supplied, serves as weather protection.

The plasma unit type CAP 3000 works as follows: In the first chamber there are pre-filter, electrostatic filter (for blue smoke) and fan, followed by the plasma units in the second chamber. In the third chamber, activated carbon acts as a storage reactive.
