Product overview gastronomy

Kitchen exhaust air is extremely greasy and vaporous and must therefore be cleaned using professional methods. oxytec offers a range of solutions that remove the grease from the air, achieve the required fire protection and, above all, reduce or almost completely neutralize the smell of the exhaust air. We also offer alternatives to conventional roof-mounted exhaust air systems and allow more freedom in the choice of location.

A good exhaust air solution opens up freedom in operation.

You want to run your kitchen in the way that is best for your guests and your business. However, official regulations and technical conditions often stand in the way of this.

This almost always involves exhaust air issues: The greasy, smoky and steamy air has to get outside without neighbors complaining or creating sources of fire.

CKA – the flexible system for exhaust air purification

The CKA air purification system consists of modules, i.e. different UV systems, which are selected and combined according to the respective requirements. The stainless steel CKA modules are stable and can be installed directly in the extractor hood or ventilation system near the odor source.

Features:

  • Cleaning system especially for hot, greasy and strong-smelling exhaust air

  • Effectively destroys organic, greasy and odor-carrying particles

  • Keeps the exhaust air ducts free of grease

  • Automatic CIP cleaning system possible for UV/ozone tubes

  • CKA IB/WB
Module for installation in the extractor hood or ventilation ceiling

  • CKA IB duct SS
Module as hood attachment (stainless steel)

  • CKA IB Channel/ Channel DS LS
    Module as channel installation

  • CKA plus KAT
at the end of the reaction section as a storage reactor

NT plasma modules

The NT plasma technology was specially developed for odor removal and has proven itself in the industry. It is based on a purely physical principle and works entirely without chemicals.

Plasma technology is particularly suitable for completely removing odors in exhaust air that is not too humid or greasy – and at very low connected loads and operating costs.

A plasma cleaning system works in four stages: Pre-filtration for grease separation, electrostat for pre-separation, reaction processes and oxidation in the plasma stage, activated carbon filter as storage reactor and final stage.

Activated carbon catalysts

Activated carbon is known as a pure filter solution – filters that have to be changed frequently. In oxytec systems, they are used as an additional storage reactor as the final stage in the purification system.

After the exhaust air has already been largely freed of unwanted components, e.g. by the grease separator and UV ozone exhaust air purification, the released ions and ozone can work for longer thanks to the activated carbon catalyst. Residual molecules that are absorbed by the filter surface are still oxidized here. In the end, the original unpleasant odor has practically disappeared completely.

Scrubber unit for removing soot and smoke

The CGA scrubber cleans the exhaust air in particular of particles, soot and smoke produced by lava stone, coal and charcoal grills. It is based on the circulation of water, which is then mechanically filtered.

Properties

– Enriches the air with moisture

– Pre-filters coarse particles and non-oxidizable substances

– Separates approx. 95 % of soot particles

– Reduces odors by approx. 30 %

– Reduces the exhaust air from approx. 100 °C to 50 °C

– Makes an active contribution to fire protection

  • CGA
Scrubber for temperature and soot particle reduction

  • CGA plus CKA IB duct
Scrubber plus UV module as duct installation

  • CGA plus CKA IB channel plus KAT
scrubber plus UV module at the end of the reaction section

Electrostat for neutralizing smoke

Electrostats are separators that use ionization to deposit grease and smoke on their collector plates and thus effectively remove them from the exhaust air. At oxytec, they are combined in a compact unit with a UV cleaning unit.

A particular advantage of using the electrostat is the low pressure loss, which is why existing fans do not need to be reinforced when retrofitting.

Thanks to the modular design, electrostats can be used for smaller kitchens with lower exhaust air flows as well as for larger kitchens with air volume flows of e.g. 30,000 m3/h and more.

Features

  • Removal of grease and smoke from kitchen exhaust air

  • Grease separation keeps the exhaust air duct system grease-free

  • Reduces the risk of fire

  • Low costs and low maintenance

  • Enables heat recovery due to purified exhaust air

  • Separation of oil mist and blue smoke

  • Separation of water-based emulsion mist

Overview

Your exhaust air requirements and the existing building services determine the solution:

Kitchen operation with steaming, cooking, frying, roasting

For on-site ventilation duct– or when planning a ventilation duct , we recommend using the CKA modules, which require a reaction section.

  • CKA IB/WB
Module for installation in the extractor hood or ventilation ceiling

  • CKA IB duct SS
Module as hood attachment (stainless steel)

  • CKA IB Channel/ Channel DS LS
    Module as channel installation

  • CKA plus KAT
at the end of the reaction section as a storage reactor

For blue smoke and grease , the use of an electrostat is recommended.
Depending on customer requirements, in combination with CKA and/or activated carbon.

  • Module ES
    Duct section with electrostat

  • ES/Carb module
Duct section with electrostat and activated charcoal filter

  • ES UV module
Duct installation with pre-filter stage, electrostat and CKA module for odor, grease and blue smoke reduction

  • ES UV module and Carb module
Duct installation with electrostatic pre-filter stage, CKA module and activated carbon filter for almost complete reduction of odor, grease and blue smoke

  • CAP Cleanair Plasma ES+OV
    – Plasma unit without fan
    – Pre-filter
    – Double electrostat
