Many of the older and partly also the newer plasma units from other manufacturers (“foreign makes”) do not have a short-circuit protection. Therefore, the equipment can cause scorched plasma plates. This danger also exists if effective pre-filtering is missing and the plasma plates become greasy. This also promotes the development of “scorching damage”.
