With UV exposure, water can be sterilised absolutely safely and with little energy expenditure: 99.9999% sterility can be achieved. No chemicals are needed, the water retains its taste and no health by-products are produced. The process is therefore ideal for food and pharmaceutical production.
Water enriched with ozone can help to create optimal hygienic conditions as washing water, for disinfecting surfaces and components, but also for washing fruit and vegetables.
Ozone injection is used to remove organic substances from wastewater. The injected ozone causes the organic components, e.g. fat, to oxidise. They then rise to the surface as sludge and can be skimmed off with a rake.
Particulate matter and long-chain molecules are separated from the water and concentrated using ultrafiltration with ceramic membranes. This reduces the number of germs.
Process water can also be circulated at higher temperatures, which helps to save water and energy.
UV water disinfection causes only a fraction of the energy consumption that occurs with thermal processes.
In the metal processing industry, chips are often bound in water. Cooling water contains metallic particles. If these are magnetic, we can remove them with magnetic separators, make the water usable for longer, pre-clarify it and or reduce its silting.
